OCR: The relatively small amphibians grew and changed dramatically over millions of years to become reptiles. The first reptiles were still quite small, 1 to 2 metres in length, but they were fierce carnivores (carnivore means 'meat eating' wheras herbivores only ate vegetation) . These reptiles were the beginning of the dinosaur age.
